If you are of PES A/B/C1, you need to pass IPPT for promotion. For PES C2 and below, your promotion to LCP should be in a month or 2 time.

LCP to 1SG is impossible cos even if they sign on, they mostly start from 3SG

Junyang700 SG

Sign up as regular lor..haha... then can jump to 3SG straight after completing CQMS course.

If I am not wrong, you are in the service sector. Your maximum rank as a storeman is CFC (Corporal First Class) rank, unless you are going for specialist course for NSF CQMS.

REC to PTE --> Automatically after BMT
PTE TO LCP --> 9 months from enlistment
LCP TO CPL --> 15 months from enlistment
CPL TO CFC --> 21 months from enlistment

dkcx SG

CFC is by performance and merit and not everyone can get it.

Hi SAR-21,

It is impossible to be promoted from Private directly to 1st Sergeant.

Cheers.

thax for all ur rpl..i think my highest rank is cpl..hw to get 1st class cpl?..i stil wondering hw wil i get my rank?..will they annouce or call us??..btw wat is oct course?..any course i can go to promote myself very fast?

dkcx SG

CFC is given to CPLs that perform well and the unit feels they are worth promoting.

All promotions (if you meet the requirements) will be posted in RO.

OCT course is for officers ONLY.

You DO NOT get to choose the courses you go for in NS. You just go for whatever your unit sents you for.

at most cpl after 2.5 years

at most cpl after 2.5 years

Hi Zastava,

National Service is no longer 2 and a half years. It was shortened a number of years back to 2 years, with those having Silver and above for their Napfa serving 1 year and 10 months.

Cheers.

laurence82 father SG

only war time and well educated then can get promoted in 6 mths.

or if they have a vocation than needs your behind to be greased everyday and stress level is like very heavy than promotion is the case.but aLL NEED GOOD EDUCATION B4 NS.

why dont u sign on instead of waiting for a cpl rank???or if u cant sign on at least go take courses for jobs after u ORD!1 year 10 mths is a very short time for ns.....if i were u with internet age etc...i would have enrolled for a course to prepapre myself for job prospects after ord and not think so much about ranks which are meant for regular forces or the best of the best officers!
