erhmm, fudgester, try your best to refrain from calling
people kid, immature etc etc. It doesn't give strength to
your argument. And if your only way of getting points across
is name calling then don't expect the discussion to end in a polite
mature fashion.
BTW respect is earned in other
ways and don't expect that being born earlier automatically earns
you respect.
I have to say you must have a
great wealth of experience to share because you have been through
what I have not. However, try looking at things from a
less myopic point of view and perhaps you can have better
advice. Don't go around starting a conversation with " Hello
immature, silly kids.."
Anyway i apologize to
the moderator for once again mentioning about the blog
previously. Sorry about it. Like I clarified already I wasn't
advertising. You cant go to a beverage discussion forum
without mentioning Coke. Again screw that blog(which is getting me
into so much trouble) and i guess that blogger is another complete
fake who is just making crap stories.
My concern here is although I know it cannot be avoided, I
wonder what gives you strength when you are enlisted in a
combat unit? What pushes people to climb a mountain they never
wanted to climb, run an extra kilometer just because the other guy
who only happens to be 1 year older than you is screaming is ass
off at you?
Sorry i am thinking way ahead after BMT. i understand the
part on go with a positive attitude. Well thats easier said
than done.
Sigh.... you seriously don't get it at all....
It is really not about you being younger. It also is not about
me being older. Rather, it is all about your behaviour.
That is what that is immature and childish.
Come on, I teach younger people in school. You seriously think I
treat them as immature people just because they are younger? No.
Rather, I respect those students of mine who behave in a way
befitting of their own age. As I tell them, I can treat them as
adults if they behave as the adults that they are supposed to be. I
don't expect any respect from them, but I expect them to behave
appropriately if they want respect from me.
You think I'm being myopic? In what way? For not trying to
understand your psyche - when I've already said that we've all been
through the pre-enlistment phase of uncertainty and jitters? You're
the one who doesn't want to look at NS with an open mind and are
thinking of kenging.
So get this point: it is not about your age, because I wasn't
even thinking of your age. It is also not about me not being able
to understand you, because I have been through what you're going
through right now. It is about your behaviour.
Yes, you are jittery, and we've all been through that. So was I
when I was in your position. So by all means, go ahead and ask
about things like what to expect in the army, and stuff like
that.
But for your own sake, please take out any thoughts of kenging.
If you want real advice, then that is as real as it gets, for
kenging will get you into a lot of trouble. Really.
