Just a question. Is it a must to wear a cap when in uniform( No 4 ) outside the camp ? Cos' i see NS men and regulars not wearing one.

Only RECs are required to do that. Noone does that after POP.

Most of the time people just put on head dress near to campgates cos u have to bookin with head dress on.

By right but outside camp noone does it.

Everytime you see someone wears it, confirm its a REC.

my fren jus get caught by millitary police wen he wear vest slack n slipper at yew tee after bookout..he say the 5 mp wear civillian cloth n he told us tat he had no chance to run or even give chance..the mp wrote somehin in a piece of paper he say..he feel sad n waiting something might happen n he think he might do S.O.L..now my question is do mp who wear civillian cloth can catch ppl exple improper attire etc if they like?..btw i hear mp can get time off if they catch someone?..can we really ignore them if they approach us for any wrong..tel me ur knowledge guys

I noticed that SAF MP often caught servicemen smoking or drinking in uniform, there is a funny but silly regulation that servicemen in uniform not allowed to hold hand with their girlfren. They should do more to send MP to units with cases of alleged bullying.

True......the day I POP, I never put on my head dress whenever I go out, even to CMPB....

To the TS:

aiyo..of course MP got authority, else they won't be called POLICEMAN.

They have powers to arrest and detain if you try to run or refuse to give your 11B. If they got no powers to enforce, they are not policemen liao....

In some cases, when they need to make official arrests after investigations...or they need to investigate some cases, you can also see them armed with pistol and handcuffs - so you think they got authority anot?

my fren haven get the verdict yet..btw f.y.i,i wear cap sometimes wen i bookout n some others oso..so it doesnt mean its a recruit..ur wrong totally..about mp?i relly dun wan to get caught by them..can they mind their own business??

Noone can blame u for choosing to wear your cap even though all lao jiao treat ppl wearing caps as RECs cos only they will obediently wear headdress when out of camp. How lao jiao differentiate the new soldiers from the old birds is by seeing whether they know which rules in SAF can be bent and which must strictly be followed :p

MP's job is to catch any SAF personnel who breaks the rules so it is their business to catch anyone in any non appropriate attire etc. However headdress is something almost everyone including regulars don't follow that nooone really enforces it.
