I am just pretty unsure about whether to go to ocs/sispec or
just be a man? if i choose first option or second option, what is
the advantage or disadvantage?
hmm... if i sign on ocs or sispec, will i have to serve longer
than 2 year? (without reservist)
and if i just be a man...will i be tekan a lot..until buay tah
han?
hmm... help me weigh my options thanks! and if u were me...which
route would u take?
If you choose to sign on, the duration depends on ur contract
and your reservice starts after your contract ends or you choose to
end it prematurely. Contracts differ among the vocations but are at
least 4-10 yrs so obviously you serve longer than 2 yrs.
If you mean to express interest in command sch and NOT sign on
to army then your NS is still the same duration regardless whether
you officer, spec or men.
Being a men or a commander obviously have their pros and cons.
Besides salary, the level of responsibilities, the type of
experiences you will gain will all differ and alot depends on your
own personality etc.
Before a commander graduates from command sch with their
commander rank, they have to go through alot of tekanning etc and
its not a smooth sailing path without suffering. Being a men could
be tougher or less tough compared to being a commander alot
depending on ur own attitude and how you treat your peers and
commanders.
Most people have ORD being a men and most went through all the
tekanning etc so surely its bearable. If your attitude does not
cause any problems, being a men also won't make you be tekan too
badly.
