nsman so easy kena db? my frens say ippt default pay fine they let u off already wad. im working as a promoter for designer boutique and i have to wear my hair this way. shd i jus tell them that?

Well.. In the eyes of military law, guys who finished their NS are never considered civillian. They're considered NS Men and are still subjected to military punishments too.

Hairstyle is not a big problem la. You can try pushing your luck by ignoring the instructor, or trimming your hair to the bare minimum requirement. NS men are usually given relaxed treatment, so the instructor wanna scold you, let him be lor. It takes alot of paperwork to charge someone and have him sent to DB la, so just try your luck..

bro, pes c and reservice? Don't mind sharing with us your exact pes?

Call the headquaters of the camp and "clarify" (actually call to complain dun give your name away).

Alternatively you could explain to the instructor that your hair is related to your job.

Instructors don't really care about such things.

im pes c1l9, excuse outfield and by right i could be called for reservice but l9 means cant outfield so they never called me yet

nightzip SG

you can try to explain to the RSM/CO or IPPT OC to say that it is because it is your job, and most probably you need to come up with a letter from your company's management say that your hair is part of your job. This letter is very important for them to ascertain facts. That what you say is true, cuz the letter will have the company letterhead, address and boss's name and office tel.

It is still understandable for models/artiste to keep their hairstyles as they are mainly selling their "looks" for a living.

But you're a promoter promoting goods to customers. I don't think the type of hairstyle that you keep would affect you selling your goods to others, unless you could prove that you need to keep your current hairstyle or else it would affect your work performance.

How is ur hair like???

god of spunk SG

its red and blonde, shoulder length all around

annoy-you-must SG

This is ridiculous...so just because of ICT, NSmen have to keep their hair short for the few years even after they have ORDed?

Must as well state a law saying that all Singaporean Males are not allowed to keep their hair longer than their ears...

Bo|2eDtoDeath SG

I've seen people with longer hair but not dyed. Maybe the colour is the problem and not the length of your hair? Anyway its always better to call the camp HQ for their approval. That way you'll have a scapegoat if you kena caught again :D

I am not surprised they are not happy with such a hairstyle...

how to get the hq number? jus ask the counter or wad? sometimes i feel that army ppl like to find fault..it takes years to grow this kind of hair and not cheap too. they treat us like savage warmachines.

Bo|2eDtoDeath SG

You go to the Ns portal website and look...or call mindef and ask for the units HQ number.

Most of the clerks hum one lar, they'll tell you to cut your hair just to cover their own asses if you ask. So its best not to ask them when you call, but to immediately KPKB when you call ..only then will their balls will shrink.
