actually if he finish OCS then sign also not too bad what ha, at least if anything F up during his Pilot trainee days, at least he is still a officer, and being a commission officer during trainee days have its peaks

well her bf is signing on as c3, not pilot.

as for safos, yea. they go and study at age of 19, 3 yrs back will be around 23.

he told me that there was a recruitment drive for air force going on yesterday. a few of them went to take the compass test and 3 were selected for interview today. 2 made it out of 3. so does that mean his chances of going over to air wing after this 2 weeks is gone? and that he has to go through the 11 weeks of army service term before he can cross over to air force again?

he has told his PC about it yesterday night, PC told him "just wait for them to call you lor."

i hope you guys understand what im talking about, because im not very familiar with the army terms and SOPs.

how should he go about keeping track of his interview dates? keep calling AFRC? or tell his superiors (PC, CPT or whatever you guys call it =x) to help him keep track? if he's so busy all the time in OCS how can he find the time to call?

one more question, what if after the army service term of 11 weeks the AFRC still hasn't called him? then he has to wait after commissioning?

Call AFRC and look for CPT Desmond to talk to. No point asking his PC as they are in the army wings and probably will give close to zilch concerns to such matters.

but doesnt the AFRC operate during office hours only? and i thought in the army, usually daytime is packed with activities? by the time he's free its only at night, i do hope that AFRC is still opened for enquiries at that time lor...

Nah. You will be surprised as OCS' schedule where lunches can be a mere 2 minutes.

Besides, cadets in OCS are not allowed to carry handphones around so yea.

One more thing, which wing is ur bf in? If it's delta, gd luck.

one question, those people that usually conduct these talks (army navy airforce recruitment talks), are they the people who are in charge of the recruitment itself or are they officers that are being arranged to come for the talk solely for the purposes of educating the cadets on job scopes and etc?

i know i got a lot of questions... but it's still interesting to know. =)

ok he's in sierra wing. at least they are sensible there. delta is not.

for people that conduct these talks, they are the recruitment officers so they will do both concurrently. be sure to ask your boyfriend to talk to the air force recruitment officer directly (CPT Desmond). usually, the officer will find the cadets to sign the contract around the 2nd week of ocs, at least that was my case.

i did tell him about cpt desmond, but i didn't know he'll be there tomorrow. =x now it's too late, lights out already! =( i hope he'll be able to meet him tomorrow in that case.. =(

oo, next week is the 2nd week of ocs for him. interesting... hehe. i dont know why am i so excited about this, as if im the one thats going for the interview. haha!

anyway, will diploma holders stand a lesser chance of getting into c3? i've read that the main people there are degree holders.. =x

ps: feel free not to answer my question if its too irritating. i can get quite inquisitive at times. =D

let me be honest, when you get in, diploma/a levels/degree doesn't make much difference.

quota? no. educational criteria is really secondary for c3 once you meet the basic requirements (at least a dip) because the compass test and your apitude test results are more important.

i am serious? hmm didn't seem to detect that. just relating my own experience even though they are not entirely relevant since i am from a levels.

actually i dont really understand what they mean by a levels batch. my bf's entire platoon is jc ppl other than him and another guy. same thing applies across the entire wing. is this considered as an a levels batch as well?
