Start hoarding
these Pokémon to prep for the next generation of Pokémon Go
evolutions
Gen 2 Pokémon (from Pokémon Gold
and Silver) are coming, adding 100 new Pokémon to the 151
original creatures in Pokémon Go. They’re already hidden
in the game’s code, it’s simply a matter of when the
new Pokémon will be officially released.
The best thing about this new update is many of your
current Pokémon are able to evolve into all-new,
unreleased forms. While waiting for the latest update, the best
thing you can do for now is collect the candies you need to evolve
these Pokémon. Here are all of the
current Pokémon that get a new evolution form.

Poliwhirl evolves into
Politoed
The latest update will introduce more split
evolution Pokémon like Eevee - Pokémon that can
evolve into a more than one form. The tadpole Polliwhirl is one of
them. Currently it only evolves into the tough Poliwrath at 100
candies, but the new update will give Poliwhirl the option to
become Politoed with the same amount of candies.

Eevee evolves into Umbreon or
Espeon
Speaking of Eevee, this split evolution Pokémon gains
an additional two forms when the update arrives - the Dark type
Umbreon and Psychic type Espeon. We had a nickname trick to get
Eevee to evolve into Jolteon (Sparky), Flareon (Pyro) and Vaporeon
(Rainer), perhaps there’s a similar trick to evolve to Umbreon and
Espeon?

Slowpoke evolves into
Slowking
Another Pokémon that gained a new evolution is
Slowpoke. Originally it could only evolve into Slowbro, one of the
better Gym defenders in Pokémon Go. The new update should give
Slowpoke the option to evolve into Slowking, possibly at 50
candies. Slowking is what happens when a Shellder bites a
Slowpoke’s head instead of its tail, turning it into a genius and
giving it more Psychic strength.

Gloom evolves into
Bellossom
If you’ve evolved a bunch of Oddish into Gloom, hold on
to at least one of them. For possibly 100 candies, Gloom will also
be able to evolve into Bellossom, a Pokémon with a
cheerful and happy disposition. While we don’t know how its stats
differ from Vileplume, we’re certain Bellossom still maintains its
Grass roots.

Seadra evolves into
Kingdra
There are some Pokémon who get to evolve one step
further, gaining an additional evolution form. Before, Horsea’s
evolution line stopped at Seadra. The new Pokémon Go
update will allow Seadra to evolve into the Water/Dragon type
Kindgra, possibly for 100 candies. It’s a
strong Pokémon in the original games, so it could be a
great addition to your Pokémon Go gym conquering
team.

Golbat evolves into
Crobat
We think we speak for all of us when we say that Zubats
are most annoying Pokémon in the game. Not only does it
take a whopping 50 candies to evolve to Golbat, they appear
practically in every nook and corner. Hold on to your high IV
Golbat though, it should be able to evolve further into the sleek
looking Crobat with 100 candies (Don’t know what IVs are?

Onix evolves into Steelix
Some Pokémon that couldn’t evolve before have
been given a new evolution form, Onix being one of them. Onix is
a Pokémon that isn’t too hot in Pokémon Go
right now, but with 50 candies it can become Steelix, a menacing
Steel/Ground type Pokémon.

Scyther evolves into
Scizor
Fans of Scyther will be happy to know that the
Bug/Flying Pokémon can evolve into Scizor, losing its
Flying type and becoming a Bug/Metal hybrid. It would probably cost
you 100 candies to evolve into Scizor, but it’s worth it for its
sheer coolness.

Chansey evolves into
Blissey
Chansey is already pretty hard to find
in Pokémon Go. For those who haven’t got it yet, here’s
an extra incentive for you to hunt one down. The latest update will
give Chansey the chance to evolve into Blissey, for what would
likely be 100 candies.

Porygon evolves into
Porygon2
Another extremely rare Pokémon in the wild,
Porygon has been eluding many Pokémon Go player’s
Pokedex. When the Gen 2 updates rolls in, Porygon will able to
evolve into the sleek Porygon2, the man-made Pokémon with
artificial AI.

Also included among the Gen 2 Pokémon are new
Baby Pokémon. These are pre-evolutions of existing Pokemon
that hatched from eggs obtained from a breeding system in-game. For
instance, Two Pikachus will produce an egg that hatches into a
Pichu. The other Baby Pokémon that will be introduced are
Cleffa (Clefairy), Igglybuff (Jigglypuff), Smoochum (Jynx), Elekid
(Electabuzz), Magby (Magmar) and Tyrogue (Hitmonchan or
Hitmonlee).
