When you downgrade or whatever. it is written the SAF code that it is YOUR responsibility to inform them that you have downgraded.

If you forgot or have not informed them, in the even of an accident, they will not pay you $$ back and neither you can claimed insurance $$. So the sake of $$, inform the clerk or officer about it. Make known through black and white in email. Then whatever happen it is their fault.

so in another words the unit wun care whether ur downgraded anot as long u inform them? will they 'meddle' with the downgrading process as in active days where NSF's unit will have 'a hand' in it?

i got downgraded in 1997 and my unit which is a combat unit still calls me up for ICT..

and i'm still in a combat vocation... even when i'm not combat-fit...

what do you think?

Ok here goes….

My unit is supposed to have an ICT later part of this year. I am waiting for any news of a Callup but apparently nothing. No SAF100 no SMS. One of my buddy already got his around 3 months ago. I guess most of the unit frame I went should have also.

I check on NS.sg, but says no callup for me also. Should I just bo chup them? Or need to call them? What you all suggest?

I dun want to last minute MP appear at my house with handcuffs lol.

No SAF100 = You won't get charged, cause its their fault even if you are scheduled for one. Just that you lose out on 1 ICT count, which will push back your MR.

no need lah.....SAF work year is thru april so by the next work year he is officially retired.............

anyway since he is not combat fit he can ken during ICT.....what do you want a 40 year old man running in the field........high risk...

Officers are very important people in the SAF. They can run, fly and jump. I think should extend to 65 years or more.

Useless and brainless people like us (CPL and below) footman I think 30 years old or less should expire already. No bother to call us back and waste tax payer money.

I recieved 4 call-ups (all 1 day or less) within less than 1 yr of my ORD ... I think footman nowadays cheap for a weekend hire leh ...

It is true. We have a limit funding, to organise reservist training and the men's salaries are included in the budget.

I remember my unit got complaint from HQ for the most expensive reservist unit to maintain/call back. LOL

As an NSman, you may be called up for NS activities for not more than 4 hours during the first 6 months after you completed full-time NS. Every NS work year, you may be called up to a maximum of 40 days of Operationally Ready National Service (NS).

he runs his own business so when SAF called him back as a LCP medic to sit around in the medical centre for 2 week, he sent in a near 5-figure pay claim..

SAF kpkb about it.. so he sent in his income tax statements proving that he earns that much...

SAF never recalled him again...

i turn 40 this year.. and i don't mind being sent to my unit to go to the medical centre and sit around for the day then go home, or to go to the bunk and sleep while the rest of the unit goes home

nonsense..my friend went back for a coc just recently..it lasted from morning till 7 evening...

Oh...that sound really bad.....during my batch of ICT. Got an senior always came on 1st day ICT wear Number 4 walk around smile smile. Rank LCP....he went to see MO. and check out -- He was one of the senior mgt in Seagate....he he he....Now I called him...." Private Talent"

Well, this is the SAF phenomenon. Super low rank in SAF. ORD as private. Reservist as private, LCP, CPL. but Rich fellow. Smart people knows how to work properly. Do the necessary to achieve the best outcome. BY ALL MEANS. hehehe
