Want PR Status, BUT Can NO Serve NS?

andyting123 SG

I am a 19 years old Malaysian who is currently styduing in Ngee Ann Poly. I just receive a "Foreign Student Scheme" from ICA, asking me to apply for Singapore PR. Do i need to serve NS if i become a PR successfully under this scheme? Or should I just wait until i graduate and serve my 3 years bond working with governement (Tuition Grant) and get my PR without serving NS? Haha..

Is this a trick question?

I think u wait long long.

For guys like u, a foreigner, will have to serve NS to become a citizen here.

No escape.

The question is why bother converting to citizenship when you can remain as PR.

haha ... very funny ... haha ...

lol.. i dont plan to get singapore citizenship.. juz PR only.. so, i still nid to serve NS as a PR? but i saw on the net that those who get their PR when working for 3 years with sg government no nid to serve NS leh..

and this is not a trick questions. i juz want to get some confirmation.. coz i dont want to serve NS here..

Pls lah, its just a simple question.. Dont give any answer not related to this topic.. and i dont want to start a quarrel...

First, dude, what do expect when u post this kind of question with "coz i dont want to serve NS here..", it is an invitation for flamming.

Second, u got question abt PR, u dun ask ICA but come here to ask...seriously wtf.

Dendrite88 SG

always got this type of leecher around... dont want serve NS then expect we locals to serve for you and you get our jobs? I fuck your asshole deep.

Yellow

u want to know why?......because you step on all those who served.

In recent immigration protest in Los Angeles, A hispanic high school student took a Mexican Flag and put it above the US Flag.

The US Hispanic Military Veteran went to the High School to teach the students a lesson or 2. (in class of course) in serving the country.

So do not think this is a Singapore thing. It is the same everywhere u go.

You are still Yellow.

jojobeach SG

Ya gota be careful here.

If you think the authorities are going to let you a free pass by being an imposter and sowing discords between Singaporeans and Malaysians...you are sorely mistaken.

We are ashamed of such a cowardly act from Singaporean such as yourself.

Do remember that if Andy Ting from NP Poly sues.. you will go to jail.

I suggest you do not play with fire.. for this will be both a civil AND criminal lawsuit against you.

ChoCoChips SG

yes u will need to serve

the letter no say meh

that time i received one and it got mention oso.

It's a fair question from the TS, no need for such rebuke. How many of us would like to skip NS if there was a replacement scheme to follow?

Atobe SG

What is with all the argument ?

Just google with the right words in the box, and you will get the following and would have answered his first question:

Do i need to serve NS if i become a PR successfully under this scheme?
