Actually I just came across an email in camp recently stating
"the term "Endorsement" has been incorrectly used and misconstrued
in the SAF for a long time. It is not in the lexicon of SAF Medical
DIrectives. There is no requirement for MC to be endorsed by the
medical officer."
It also stated however that MCs more than 3 days long or light
duty excuses for more than 14 days long need to be submitted
after his return from medical leave to the medical
centre. It says this is only meant for the medical centre to update
the servicemen's medical record. "The review is not
intended to verify the truth/validity of the medical ceritificate
issuded by a registered medical practitioner."
I'm wondering if anyone can share any knowledge on this source
of information which I have come across.
