Din know SISPEC is still having Ex. Nutcracker and Ex. Grandslam
since my SISPEC days back in 1994 at Pasir Laba Camp ... but
previously, we have to go through 8 weeks of trade course after BMT
before Infantry Section Leaders' Course(now is BSLC?). We are still
eating the old combat rations which consists of sardines, baked
beans and pork cubes (chicken for muslims), those were the days
...
My Ex. Nutcracker happened at Mandai forest, or Jalan Ulu
Sembawang, whereas Ex. Grandslam is at Tekong. Former SAF RSM SWO
Gunga (then 1WO) was my company 2IC then and my PC was 2WO Loy Tuck
San, a tall and slim fatherly-look Ranger (now could be MWO/SWO
already).
