Looks like I can get alot of useful information here, hope you
guys can help me out. I have a problem, I have a mob manning/ alert
amber at the end of the year, but I booked an overseas trip during
the last 3 days of the manning period, it kind of slipped my mind
when I made the booking.
Is it possible to ask for excuse or deferment for the last 3
days? Nothing on the NS portal seems to fit my needs. I know it's
my fault for forgetting, but I don't want to forfeit the deposit,
it's quite a huge amount. Thanks to everyone in advance!
even if activated, then u no show, and receive letter to report
back to camp to answer, so
long as u show ur passport of the stamp for <out
of country> status even if activated,
u r safe, u will not be penalised. cos it's a valid reason.
and there is no such thing as "deferment for mob manning."

Those NSmen who fail to report or
fail to do so within the period allowed by their NS unit will be
regarded as absentees. They will continue to be regarded as such
until they report to their NS unit to explain their absence.
Disciplinary action will be taken against those
NSmen without
acceptable explanations. The effectiveness of the
system and the operational readiness of your NS unit depends on
you.
