Their products all import from countries like Thailand, Myanmar, etcetera. one, where the currency is lower than ours. And probably also straight from the supplier. That’s why they can sell it at low prices.

Of course safe la. We have government agencies like AVA and NEA to make sure that the food is safe to consume.

As for the products, there are some variations. Valu$ is more of snacks and simple household products. NTUC, SS, Giant, Prime got more variety.

Whereas for Mustafa, I do not know why people say their products are cheap. I think it's because they carry foreign brands, that's why people go to Mustafa.

If you say so, why are we still hearing food poisoning of students consuming canteen food... then Geylang Serai food poisoning shouldnt exist also since it is regulated by gov..

But in terms of bulk, is definitely NTUC Fair Price.. Why dont they adapt the lower selling price to gain more customers? Their price difference can be 30-60% or even 100% sometimes.. The reason must not be so simple.. just order in bulk, pay cash, ship in bulk, employ less and cheaper worker, cut cost, less air-con... price difference is too huge.. and they are making money.. (I assumed, because they are opening more outlets..)

it's not a price fight but offering a different supermarketing experience and variety of products and services
