My Tekong days were the best days of my NS life.
Yes, life is probably tough there. The regimentation, the
getting-used-to phase of the military life, the degradation and how
they instilled in us that we were the lowest life form.
But the camaraderie... the rapport... the
learning-how-to-get-along... I'd say most people treated each other
with sincerity! Not to mention how everyone had fun together, keng
together and get f-ed together... 
Now in unit... life is full of office politics... thankfully, I
still got 4 of my BMT mates with me, though in different companies
