We had some interviews for becoming MP at our BMT last week .. just wondering what life would be like if I was posted there? All I remember from the talk is that its 2 months of training before getting posted. Is the vocation stay in? shifts? Thanks guys. 2 weeks to POP =)

the next intake about 50 only i think.

The trainee period u have to stay in.. Nth much but expect lots of running n static training.. U will be studying various laws, some contraint movements and various weapons..

After u POP there are many branch u can go to.. I shld say 40% shift , 20% stay out, 40% stay in...

Its good to be a MP.. Go for it if u can... At least i enjoyed being one.. Juz worried abt my ORD.. U will be going to a chiong sua unit for reservist and not provost...

i agree, the pti's in my camp spend most of their time training themselves in the gym.

Well, if you like policing work and ceremonial duties, the MP vocation will be enjoyable for you. You will attend a 10 weeks basic course (or Spec course if you are SISPEC graduant)where you will learn aspects of policing works, laws and your powers and how to use them responsibly, and weapons such as the 9mm semi-auto pistol. Trainers comprised of MP with various degree of ground experiences as well as Police Officers attached from HTA.

Your potential posting after the course includes enforcement, and yes, this includes conducting raids(contrary to 105090’s claim, is more frequent than your local drama on ch 8!), anti-riot etc ; investigation; intel; ceremonial; canine; KINS protection, etc.

BTW, Provost no longer exist! Is now expanded into a formation and is now MP Command, and yes, all MP came from there.
