Icemoon SG Heard from my commanders the last part where you have to casavec your fellow teammates very siong. Live firing is kinda silly. Take so long to prepare and set up target board, miss liao still have to take down. The fire-trench digging, I think is not in the IBOS right?
Icemoon SG aiyah .. shoot sub caliber good enuff liao .. why must shoot live round? (edit: the real answer is that to qualify as 84mm trained, you must go through the live firing. so yeah ..) And the live firing is not realistic. During actual missions, where got so heng tank stationery one? In all our battalion missions, never once were we told the tank is stationery.
ad3285 SG wah u talk until like live rounds same as sub caliber -_- sub caliber shoot 7.62 rounds, machiam no recoil like that. 84 live round, you don't adopt proper position, i confirm sure fly very high and out of target you are only going for a basic course and doing a first time live firing using a weapon you just learnt to handle for 4weeks. if u can't even hit the stationary target dun talk abt moving targets >.>
ad3285 SG I went for my course at around July 2006. Can't remember the exact date though. The course is only for commanders only. So quite relax. The trainers won't tekan us much as we all commanders know how to behave all that. so maybe that's why the course quite relax. as describe by others already, morning 8am start lecture abit, then break up for practice on stripping and assembly and IA drills all that. Lunch then lecture abit, continue practicing. 5pm sure end lesson cause the instructors all stay out de. They also want to go home on time for dinner. Everyday the same continue for 4 weeks. Last week got evaluation all that, bring you all out for mission see how you deploy, ur drill all that. And 4km route march with the stupid weapon. That's abt it. Icemoon SG So many factors. I alway blame it on the boresighting. In a war, you can guarantee the boresighting won't be out ah?
Icemoon SG ICT better to take less risk. If injuried they won't even compensate for your civilian loss. Plus your ICT not counted.
temasek_green SG "One Round Away" yet? Ensure your ear plugs are in good condition..... and push the plugs all the way in.....you won't regret... BTW, this course is conducted by instructors at 84mmRR Wing SIW right?
