The difficulty, as I see it, is more with the Poly side. I don't
think any of the local institutions allow for course deferment in
order to serve NS, unless the student has received an enlistment
letter first. Furthermore, if he's successfully deferred NS in
order to study, then this deferral is formally in effect until he
graduates (or drops out of his course).
The world doesn't revolve around him, so to speak.
