During my time (circa. 1987), they only take scouts from
SAFINCOS (what is now known as SISPEC today), We have to undergo a
vocational interview before being selected. Section commanders have
very little control over the men because they are all of the same
rank and same batch! But otherwise, being a scout is real
fun....
But be careful because each scout has to carry alot of combat
controlled equipment. Secure here secure there damn siong... I got
entangled my by own comms cord when crossing the river in Tamburong
jungle.
