did the battery saving mode kick in? did you somehow set restrict background data?

Your telco is M1 ha, I also suddenly kenna few months back, tried all solutions found online but still the same, gave up liao, use back sms. I suspect maybe the telco has lot of servers, some not so watsapp compatible, somehow your line gets re-shuffled after maintainance and connected to those problematic server. Maybe can try keep on pestering them and hope they secretly connect your line to those better server.

Whatsapp is cranky. Notification function feel like it prompt users, don't feel like it nothing . Temperamental.

The latest version rather crappy.

I think heng suay one, mine was ok until few months back, last time telcos said watsapp is making them lose lot of money, don't know is it purposely one.

Whatsapp admin service sucks. They have no committment to do a good job to answer simple question.

Contacted whatsapp . Waiting for reply. Mine totally no notification.

I have no problem so far on notification. It always notify me when I am on standby mode and even display a short message on my home page when I switch on. Got to go through the various areas to find out where it got "switch off". I use Andriod phone

1. Making sure the Whatsapp is not connected to the Whatsapp web but directly from Wifi network; if you are not sure, reinstall the Whatsapp from play store;

2. in App Manager, find Whatsapp app, check if the notification check is on

3. In the notifcation under setting, make sure one has the correct setting and turn on notification sound.

4. Make sure the group or name of the Whatsapp person has not been muted or set not the display notification.
