If they hit...it will be insurgent style. No doubts about
that...which means more work for our 6SIR Spartans.
How? They'll need to cross the Straits of Malacca first. Look at
a map of Indonesia, & tell me (a) how many ports you can spot
that have the infrastructure to service a naval fleet, or serve as
an embarking point for an invasion force; (b) the airfields that
can house the fighter jets to protect the flotilla from being
bombarded?
Fighting insurgent style ... hide where? ~lol~ This island is only
40km x 25km big & it's all urbanized except for MacRitchie
& the Live Firing Areas. Don't tell me all S'poreans are so
insular that they can't tell an Indonesian accent from a Malaysian
one either.
Indonesian armed forces only three hundred thousand including
the three services.
Actually, 300,000 in itself is quite respectable. The US Regular
Army, according to one source, is "only" 519,471 big, excluding
their National Guard & Army Reserve. Combined, the trio number
about 1 million in strength. 48
MILLION? ~lol~
But Indonesia's is organized territorically -- & it's a big
country -- &, as I understand their system, also garrison-style
with one or more BNs attached to each KODAM. So their infantry
operational strength is clustered only in the thousands, but
geographically scattered all over their domains &, from our
viewpoint, little formal tri-service collaboration & zero
combat-arms organization (unlike Malaysia's, which in turn the SAF
has almost 15 years' experience on).
