During my time, we had to do movement to contact in a 3 tonner.
Once contacted, it was literally jumping off the 3 tonner with
weapons and dummy ammo and diving or leaopard crawl to the nearest
cover. I think we had 10 seconds to dismount a section of 9 men
once contacted
Our helmets then were the steel helmet with plastic lining. The SBO
were the 1st generation type.
I believe we are tougher then. Nowadays, brain power more
important. Last time, do already then think. Now, think first then
do.
