dark_riverter SG Strictly speaking a 3SG is a section commander, in charge of about 10 men. But in real life, just a higher-class man. Scenario: You and your men get arrowed to do some nonsense like carrying chairs and tables. Your men are slacking in one corner and one CPT comes around... Guess who gets F-ed upside down? That's right! Usually the 3SG.
LazerLordz SG Damn right. (Some 3SGs are not section commanders, and are really men, especially in those DIV HQs and esp MINDEF)
Gordonator SG in the past, 3SGs holds important appointments, like Platoon Sergeants. back then section commanders are CPLs. 3SGs are also colors escorts for major parades. nowadays it's usually 2SG.
