Aiyah, Oakley salesman sometimes also screwed-up. He thinks that
all Oakleys are Milspecs, and anyone who puts that on becomes Tom
Cruise. Not all models have the same ballistic resistance grade,
especially those you picked from the shop.
Just look at the thickness of the polycarbonate lens and don't let
anyone bluff you. Compare it to ESS, Wiley-X lens. I have seen
demos of the sales guys bending the lens over without breaking. The
technology to date does not allow for a thin lens to have high
impact resistance, that's why helmet visor shields are so thick for
better protection. It needs to be at least 2.XX mm (not so sure
what is that magic number) to meet the prescribed military
specifications.
Also, Oakley is famous for its optical clarity, and the thicker the
lens get, the visual clarity will reduce.
