borntolive SG i seen alot of guys doing RT which in other words fail ippt.. i m asking if how many here even bother to train n at least pass IPPT, to escape RT n most importantly get the money? Or most here just cant be bothered about ippt, n lan lan do rt?

maurizio13 SG $400 is damn good money!!!! Where in the world can you find a job that pays you $400 an hour??? Every year I look forward to IPPT, I wish they have IPPT every month.
Ole SG You have to calculate in the time u spend on training for the ippt to get the gold standard, then u will find that it is in fact not worth it.
maurizio13 SG Training also helps you keep fit and trim mah. Can't be solely attributed to IPPT. Even if no IPPT I will still go for runs and gym. Maybe better if SAF have IPPT every month, then it's worth it liao. Hehehe......... *prepare for blanket party*

borntolive SG i think not having to go back during weekends is already a incentive… imagine having to go back to camp on sat afternoons to do RT?
jianfish9 SG How about starting work at 10am and knocking off at 12midnight-1am. Give or take an hour or so. How about, after RT straight away go back to office to finish up work. Where got time to train. The SAF think we all working cushy 9-5 government job isit. After work still so free go do training.
KenPlus SG When auditors come even worst,everyday OT until 12,yeah i love to go to gym and love to jog but as a form of leisure,it silly to go back to the camp,book in and train when there a gym nearby my house.
oldbandit SG IMO ippt is a waste of time sia.. In time of war no matter u got gold/silver/bronze or fail government throw u the rifle u LL still have to fight. NOT as if they will say u got gold in ippt u fight front line, u fail u no need fight. LL sux thumb still have to chiong. I dont see the point of having IPPT.. juz my opinion
Gordonator SG as a NSman, i find that even if u fail IPPT and have to got for RT. if u put in effort, u can pass at the end of the 2 month training. i'm living proof of it. i'm aiming for silver next year. i want that badge.
SGpork SG they want soliders to be fighting fit..not those cannot run or what so.. if no IPPT to see ur fitness level ...all the solider so shag ...how to fight..
eagle SG 4 yrs le... I still silver I never got a gold before though But I still have to agree with jianfish9 that some people won't have the time to train up because of job commitments.
