My unit doesn't practise call-up of NSmen during their Uni term
for ICT also.
I'm personally skeptical but, never mind, "if you say so".
Anyway, if I downgrade to Pes C, I know I will be excused from
IPPT, but will I still be liable for reservist since I have changed
my Pes status?
Not sure about infantry but for other support arms like Arty
& SCE, yes, you'll still have to report for ICT unless you're
C9L3 or worse. Those downgraded but still called up are only spared
from IPPT & parades. They'd still go out into the field, &
it's up to their buddies & immediate commanders to work around
what they can or cannot do. In my old unit, a recce driver of mine
was reassigned to follow the RSM vehicle as a RP; not sure it
exactly brought him relief (he's got hypertension, which is very
common among older reservists) but no one complained.
Unless your unit is also "special" one, of course ~lol~
