Storeman with no strength

last time my unit got a GE storeman PES E1L9 who is of mental problems and not only he can’t carry heavy things he have many things that can’t do and can on...

I got a friend who is a storeman and got no strength to carry heavy things. His superiors refuse to change his vocation for him and so he got very little things to do as when they are carrying those heavy things, he will just sit down and zhuo bo Laughing

In "general" I think there is a missed concepture by most singaporean is that in time of war support vocation such as MT recovery, QM Store doesn't go to the front line. But look at the result with US army Jessica Lynn, Her convoy was lost an attack her companion were killed in shootout. As for her rifle were jam and she did not fire. I am sure there are a lot more FUBAR than the stories.

So for SAF keep having this idea that support is only for the sick n weak will have serious consequences both for the men n operation.

I hd storemen who are pes b....not becos they are inferior 'stocks' not suitable for combat but for the sake that the folks at cmpb 'fark' it up and chose these chaps to be ammo/ge storemen......

mind you, they are guard cdrs/2ics/prowlers....poly/and the a/o/n levels.....and they take ippt and passed them.....

of course, there are also the ''real' pes c ones who are as hardworking as their counterparts and does not keng even though their medical condition does not permit them to carry out certain tasks..........though at their own risks.

firstly, doing guard duty does not mean anything. in fact, guard duty is redundant. u think those enemy SOF is dumb enough to be caught by prowlers? Laughing dun joke. plus, the amount of ammunition given is another big joke.

its just pointless suffering. if they wanna make REAL one, they can put cameras with guns all over the f shop, complete with bunkers with M16s, SAR21s, GPMG, Metador, AGLs pointing outside. then again, still open to airstrikes, so if MINDEF really wants the camp, they have to deploy SAM and AAA all over the f shop also. complete with air support from F16s and AH-64 should there be enemy armour and CAS.

fact is, dun need as threat is low. enemy SOF is smarter than to get caught by a few prowlers who WILL DIE without even seeing them in the first place.

oh, then u can say terrorism. if a car carrying 100kg of explosive goes up to the gate, theres nothing u can do to stop it from ramming through. or even if the bomber detonates the explosives, u r still too near.

therefore, my point. pointless suffering.

but since we are on an issue that focuses on how strong/weak the storemen are... those ppl u r talking abt carry sch bag before or not? u mean to say they are not fit to even carry a rifle + SBO that is probly loaded with watever tidbits they like?

secondly, level of education does not mean anything. or r u trying to tell me that an O lvl shoot more crooked than a soldier who grad from poly, or vice versa? or that an O lvl can carry more things than a soldier who grad from poly?

thirdly, IPPT pass? only?

hardworking... great. i like hardworking people that dun push their duties to others. but that does not change the fact. and, if they got injured or their condition worsened, wat do u think SAF will do?

Back in my division, got few storemen, excuse ippt and outfield and stuffs... but is in charge of taking care of the gym... Laughing so whole day in gym.

And all of them... from the lean skinny lads turned to those gymfit types....

i agree.

some people in camp are struck by this "no strength" or the "here pain, there pain" disease... yet when they book out, or are in the gym on their own free will, they are healed temporarily.

anyhow, i was trying to point out the fact that there were storemen who are equally fit and hardworking as well and regardless of their educational background.

that's fm my experience when i hd the opportunity to supervise couple of storemen with a mixture of pes b/c with a/o/n levels, some of whom are medically unfit but put up good espirit de corps within the team. Smile

to be honest, i do not like QM department. intensely.

my point is guard duty is very meaningless. remotely controlled weapons can deter the would be intruders, and stop a penetration altogether, instead of prowlers checking for holes in the fence, which is too late because harm has already been done. assuming the prowlers are willing to work, not hide in one corner and sleep. please let a rambling old man indulge himself. Laughing

maybe im prejudiced against all storemen because i have NEVER seen a good, hardworking storeman in my life before.

and yes, they are equal in PES and maybe even fitness, but CMPB put them as storemen. so, they arent that "equal" anymore. plus, storemen are supposed to be able to carry stores wat. how can a storeman be unable to carry anything? (refering to TS's post)

as in everything, there are good, and there are bad. i had the misfortune of only experiencing the bad.
