charleslee SG hi all, this morning , i saw an interesting article abt SAF’s revised salary… i was so shocked to see that an LTA will be getting abt 3000 odd dollars … does this mean that there r not enuff regulars in the service?
blitzonic SG Wow, I just checked the Recruitment Center site. They say that, if you sign on, you will make from $1,350 (recruit) to $1,866 (officer cadet). That's very good money, if you can then defer for 3-4 years to study at NUS or NTU.
sir sickolot II SG but unless you extend the mandatory retirement age, it’s still an uphill task to attract people into the military service.
LazerLordz SG Well, they terminated a lot of contracts last year and in 2005. Seems like someone smart figured out the ramifications of not extending the contracts of many regulars.

sir sickolot II SG so technically they threw alot of people out, and are now increasing the starting pay to woo officers. unless there were major issues with the previous batches of officers... i don't see how this plan is going to work In any case... someone up there thinks regular men are not worth the increase. it's all the ivory tower planning.. seeing the skies but forgetting the ground, or getting in touch with reality.
Applecombi SG men not worth much..... officers worth more, need to think and push buttons. 3G Army. where is the PASSION???.... maybe not worth much again.
Hellraiza SG lets see a whole section of officers then. or why not platoon. make it a damn brigade while we're at it. Notice the news only reported pay raise for officers. Gordon-i raised the issue with COA when he visited my unit.
