means u'll become a signaller. posted to where depends. wats the
course that u ooc from and wats your previous unit? u may be posted
to other units to be signaller.
signallers are combat support vocations. u'll need to go outfield,
just like any other combat positions. but whether u get to sit
inside l/rover to man comms or lug a manpack set to chiong depends
on ur unit. if u get posted to active combat units, u must still do
soc. if lucky get posted to non-active units like training
institutes, no need to do soc but must do ippt due to pes a/b
status.
IC 1 refers to signallers trained to operate unimogs (special
signal vehicles) and IC 2 is training for normal vehicular and
manpack sets. last time sig inst has another separate course called
Infosys. now they combined it with IC 1 and IC 2. means that in ur
case, u'll be IC 2 / Infosys operator.
signal courses require lots of studying. just for IC 2 alone u'll
have ten-plus manuals to study. infosys is the tougher part. it
relates to some in depth computer knowledge. but don't worry, u'll
pass it if u do the course with conscientious effort. when u're
studying for ur tests and getting frustrated, remind urself that
thousands of signallers have successfully passed out and failure
rate is very very low. but u MUST study.
hope this helps...
