does that mean LCP and below can disrupt as well? cos last time when NS is still 2.5 years. only CPL and above can disrupt.

Hi all,

Would like your advice for this.

I am in this PTP batch and i know there are enlistment held in June and Sept this year.

I am interested to enlist on june because i want to make it for my uni studies on 09/10.

May i know how should about applying for this? I went to send an email ns.sg but i didn't get a reply.

Would you advice me going down straight to CMPB to apply? And is it too late now to apply for june batch?

Many Thanks,
Lemon

i know there is a telephone number for enlistment..

lemon87 SG

Whats the no?!

alvin-ncs SG

call or go down to cmpb…

kwlee SG

u can call them.

lemon87 SG

At what number? I called the NS 24 hr hotline, they seem to say that CMPB is handling it and not them..

Gordonator SG

it’s too late. do u know how much admin and logistic works needs to be done so that u can enter uni early. the reason is not strong enough.

stellazio SG

damnit la, looks like i also missed my chance to enter inn june le..haiz.. Crying or Very sad

alvin-ncs SG

maybe they accept lei? Rolling Eyes

LazerLordz SG

Go down to CMPB and do it in person. It’s not too much of a fuss actually. Do bring supporting documents.

lemon87 SG

Thanks lazer for your postive reply :p

What kind of supporting doc besides letter from uni?

Gachilles SG

Think you may be getting your letter soon? Cuz many of my friends (from poly) have received theirs within these few days. I haven’t got mine though.

lemon87 SG

don’t think so, i called CMPB earlier they said haven’t confirm..

LazerLordz SG

That letter should basically state that you have been offered a place, and provide information about the course starting date.

Is it a local uni?

lemon87 SG

Yes they have mentioned that i have been offered place for 09/10. Local uni (NTU/NUS)..

Besides the letter what else? Thanks! Very Happy

I think it is better for NS to be back to 2.5 years, so TS will be just in time to start school.

Gordonator SG

just curious, now that NS is reduced to 2 years, are there's no more disruption? Question

eac SG

there still is. revised new gom directive.

depend on when u enlist date.
if june/dec batch enlist, no disruption. if remembered correctly.
if sep/oct batch enlist, can submit offer letter. grant u 1 to 2 mths disruption, just in time for academic year.

only applicated to local unis nus/ntu/smu, and studying on campus at overseas unis.

Good idea

But what if the chief clerk don't want to grant disruption next time? I think some uni also have special term for returning NS men at april...
