whitenoise SG Recruits and trainees (PTEs, at least) do not receive combat allowance AFAIK. The $450 allowance for REC is a big hoax if you ask me, unless someone shows solid proof Anyway the most updated NS allowance scheme is this: http://www.mindef.gov.sg/imindef/news_and_events/nr/2002/may/16may02_nr2.html.print.html?Status=1 It doesn't reflect, of course, the increased allowance which will take effect in July.
