AFAIK, recruits nowadays are being taught to have the bottom of sleeve four fingers up from the elbow crease. This is better to cater for individuals. Fat, thin, long, short. No longer measure from shoulder.

all enlistee CPLs are CPLs because they cannot be promoted to 3SG.

or all u saying that CPLs that can be promoted to 3SG will not be promoted to CFC?

CPLs who can be promoted to 3SG because of vocation, may be promoted to CFC instead if they are not sent for section leader course, e.g new batch of tech specs.

IMHO, it's stupid. The fella who crafted this policy didn't take into account that tech specs play an important role in a battalion orbat, and they require their 3SG rank to carry out certain duties without being hindered.

I don't believe a CFC can sign for a weapon fit-for-firing cert. Rolling Eyes

I think this method only suitable for recruits.

When you get to the unit and get a rank, short arm people will find that the upper folded sleeves will be touching the formation sign. The rank will be hidden, and he will remain PTE forever.
