regarding army regulars and staying in

do those regulars in combat stay-in unit have to stay in?

or they can stay out? or is it just optional?

if regulars r required to stay in, do they get stay out privileges after they reach a certain rank or certain period?

as far as i know those regular combats in active units comfirm plus chop have to stay in when mono-intake comes in for ptp and bmt and later on for exercises....only combat regulars who dun have to stay in probably those at schools ba.....for staying out part for married personnels yes...for single hmmm.....u will need a good reason ...family needs your presence all these....for previliges.....dun think so ba....

When you are in SAF, SPF or SCDF, you are always 24hr on standby!

Where got such thing I only work 8 to 5....

BS....this is public service and regulars are consider civil servant 24hrs standby is thier duty . it's not like civilian/private sector where they pay you for any extra time for work...

depends on the tour. staff of course not. command, den probably, depending on unit requirement, and whether you are married or not.

My friend chooses to stay in becuse he says too much work to clear, easier than travelling home. I think that if you hold a job in a HQ like HQ Cdo, you don't need to stay in because there's no place for you to stay in.

from what i know. once you finish serving your initial 2years(aka get 2sgt). u get to stayout if nothing is on, got bmt, think u can nights off if you are not CDS.

They should make ALL regulars stay in.

All of them. If NSFs stay in, they should lead by example and stay in.

Then they will understand the difference between staying in mon-fri and booking out every day.

But easier said than done, because of families.

But still, i really think that if all regulars stay in camp, SAF will really transform. More comradeship and all.

Just look at the camps. After 1730 hrs (generally speaking), it's NSF land save for a few DOs, BSOs, GCs etc etc.
