I've heard a case where an OCS graduate, who's not even a regular,
but during his NS duration, he was allowed to do Airborne.
Some how I wish that the SAF could have an Airborne unit. I mean
for the past 90 years, military units around the world have been
using airborne infantry to secure and achieve objectives that have
shaped history, such as World War 1 and World War 2.
I was interested in the Airborne, even sinced i saw "Band of
Brothers".
Although the training is tough....well its funny thought to jump
off a perfectly good airplane.[/b]
Unlikely la - alot of regulars will want to do the course. Btw,
our Airborne Course fitness requirement is actually not very hard.
Any half-fit person can do it de. (IIRC, IPPT Silver [or was it
bronze] in Boots)
Btw, aren't the Commandoes an Airborne unit? Hence we do have an
airborne unit though tbh the utility of mass air-drops today are to
be questioned.
