Speaking from
personal experience, CCA can be fulfilling if you choose the
right one, and can be a pain if you choose (or are placed in) the
wrong one.
I was put into a uniform group
CCA in secondary school and I did not enjoy it at all. I
found it boring, pointless and meaningless to do footdrill just for
the "sake of instilling teamwork and discipline". There were,
however, some girls who enjoyed it and I was clearly not one of
them. In JC, I auditioned and got into a performing arts CCA
and I loved it so much. It was by no means a smooth journey,
given that I did not have a performing arts background unlike
everyone else in that CCA. Despite the hard work, stress and
late nights, I grew so much in those two years. I had the
opportunity to develop my passion in the arts and got to perform in
concerts and festivals in Singapore and California.
Thus, it all boils down to what CCA you choose.
