Can we use an umbrella when we are in No.4

insouciant SG

I think as long as it isn't when you are training, it's allowable.

But field camp or exercise bring umbrella?? Don't think so.

nightzip SG

yah, and stupid man stands in the rain. Laughing

Obersturmfuhrer SG

Yah, really stupid people just stand there. The smart ones look for and run for shelter. Laughing

There really isn't a rule against using of umbrellas when in uniform while under administrative duties. I think the "ban" is more applicable for recruits.

mr_sotong SG

ya.. only idiots dont use umbrella when it rains.. Laughing

sir sickolot II SG

from that i can safely equate real men = idiot?

and of cos u can use an umbrella when it's raining.

would SAF want healthy men who use the umbrella or sickly soldiers who are too macho to use an umbrella.

of cos that's not during out field training. not tactical la... can't have bright neon orange umbrellas in live firing area, can we now? Mr. Green

Ponders SG

I dunno which Warrant disallow the use of umbrella and made this like an unwritten rule.

SAF Dress Code allows the use of umbrella. And in ceremonies, the guest of honour if military personnel may be umbrella'ed carried by an person of junior rank.

PointBlue SG

I booked in on Tuesday carrying an umbrella to Tekong, and just an hour ago I booked out with the umbrella as well. Nothing happened to me.

Gordonator SG

in fact i encourage SAF to issue all recruits with a small fold-able SAF umbrella as standard issue item adn book in/out item.

cos what if recruits books out and it starts to rain? Laughing

STUU SG

i think recruit will heck care even if it rains...coz most recruits will go home straight after bookout

martin_lim85 SG

last time my RSM around, he will F any1 who never use umbrella, walking in rain

tfcheng SG

i'm wondering if TS is trying to be funny..
its plain common sense to use umbrella when its raining. chiong sua no choice coz umbrella is not a standard item, but there's gortex jacket that serve the same purpose. and when the rain gets heavier or CAT1, u go to the nearest shelter.
plain common sense lah!
