Jungle boots are quick dry boots with 2 drainage plugs at the
arch of your footsole area. It allows water to get in and out
quickly. As you walk, the water is pumped out of the boots, so you
don't feel you are carrying extra weight in them.
I find it funny when SAF introduced waterproof boots. I think the
people sitting in MINDEF wants this because they sit in the aircon
room, and don't need to go to the field.
When you do river crossing, water will get into your boots no
matter how waterproof it is. The next thing you really want is to
have the 2 drainage vents to get the water out quickly.
