medical check-up

i've booked my medical check-up for ns on 5th feb 2007, but there's a thing which i am wondering.

while my friends have took NAFA first before they went to medical check-up

why is it that the Mindef lets me go for medical check-up first and to date i still don't know when i can go take nafa test??

how long do i have to wait for letter to come to ask me to book nafa test?

than how long will it take me again to get enlisted?

totally unrelated.

Napfa is held weekly. Just drop in session.

Medical checkup is appointment.

But Napfa is so long you can pass before enlistment.

I've known ppl to pass the morning of their enlistment.

medical check-up is to confirm the medical status to determine the pes status, and NAFA is needed to as a estimate in consideration of Pes status isn't is?

if there's no link like you said than nvm. Confused

so back to the nafa, do I NEED TO take nafa test before or after the medical check-up as I wasn't being informed by Mindef to go take any nafa test at all. Neutral

what i mean by totally unrelated is this...

Medical Checkup... to Determine PES status.

Napfa, to determine your lenght of service and whether you need to attend PTP BMT.

The difference if you do before or after is.

Before: Your pass Napfa and go medical checkup, and graded PES C. Then all the effort you took to pass Napfa goes to waste since whether or not you pass Napfa doesn't matter if you are PES C.

After: After medical checkup up, you know your PES status, then you can decide if you need to take napfa at all.

Possible. BUt why would they want to do that?

No incentive to them.

But from my experience.. it is usually the PES Cs that breaks the records. haha.

PES C ippt usually have few ppl who can do exceptionally well in a single station but badly in others.

My experience so far.

SBJ = 300cm (maxed out)

2.4km. = 7+ mins

Pull ups = 40+

Sit ups = 72 (but i dun want to endorse this because School of PT says the human max is 45-50 a min, anything more means they ain't doing it properly)

BTW, you have to book online for the Napfa test at Toa Payoh before going there. You cannot take the test without booking for it.

i think i will just wait for the letter to come again to request me to book nafa test than settle lor

if not when i go medical check-up than ask them lor.

One more thing: The cut-off date for NAPFA test is 2 weeks before enlistment.

Hmm.. looks like SAF noticed all the loopsholes and problems with this NAPFA administration that new rules are put in place.

Ppl have been passing IPPT literally the morning of their enlistment. This creates LOTS of admin problems with his issue items.

Many times their duffle bag goes missing unaccounted.

back in secondary sch days, years back, i've seen my fren doing 65 sit ups in a minute.

the teacher didn't believe it, but i did.
i was right beside him only during nafa..lol..

it's possible.

your teacher most probably dunno what a proper sit up is.

It is impossible to do more than 50 if you are doing it properly (as in standard by the book sit ups)
