Want to sign on as officer? Last time very easy one lar.. Not
sure about now, but last time when I was in BMT, there was a short
scheme for you to sign on as an officer. I believe it was 3 years,
and if you consider 2.5 years NS liablity (during my time), in
total you actually serve 1 year extra.
Many of my platoon mates signed on that scheme, and I almost did
too. It was not a bad scheme to save and fund university studies
after, for those that are less well off. I believe 90% of those
that signed on actually got it. Not sure about current HR
requirements. I think might be more stringent nowadays. Last time
pass IPPT, range, and SOC sure can sign on officer. Now I
dunno.
