minimalis SG There is a MINDEF protocol GOM that states only certain rank and above can retain the rank in their names after leaving service.
wisefool83 SG By right, the CDF should be rotated among the three services. This is to allow better input from all three services. If SAF only have CDF from Army backgrounds, then one can expect our military forces to be very land centric. This is because if the CDF will inevitably has better understanding about the service that he comes from and can better contribute to it in his term as CDF.

Gordonator SG i suggest that in future, all CDF candidates must pass BMI, SOC, must have IPPT Gold, marksman and at least 1 confidence badge.

Gordonator SG don't say CDF a 3 star general, will we ever see a 1 star commando BG or not 1st? as a division commander? btw, LG Ng Yat Chung was previously CO of 21SA and commander of 3DIV, then COA, now CDF. Desmond Kuek last time also commander of 3DIV.
