Singlish originated from english, with lots of other languages and dialects, local expressions added in, and is becoming further and further away from the victoria english.

but still when you are not sure and you ask and most Singaporeans would explain to you in simple english. in taiwan, if they don't know english, they still can't explain what the hokkien or mandarin means.

Just returned from a maiden trip to Taiwan and found the people there very courteous and welcoming. Street food is plentiful just like here, and transportation is clean and efficient.

Just had a few experiences of a language barrier because they are primarily mandarin-speaking and are quite monolingual compared to the regional countries.

When I came back I read a news report that there was a stabbing incident on their metro, which is surprising when I think back on how laid back their people are. Imagine if the same incident happened here.

Politics in sg is worst. Govt pro foreigners, against own citizens. Keep extending cpf withdrawal minimum amount. Worst still the poor not allowed return of their cpf money.

In sg, politics is worst ...... govt sue citizen for asking how they use our cpf money to invest. They stated they are servants to citizens , ironically the servant sue the boss on no reasonable ground. Like as if it is illegal for boss to qustion how the servant spends the marketing money entrusted by boss.
