Haha, the new uniform standard is causing some hickups with the
Log side at my base, not everybody was issued and thanks to me
gonna ORD real soon (like in two weeks), I wasn't issued... it's
either that or the new specs kapo my stuff...
But I think we are trying to adopt a more amerikean style of
uniform with all the patches and stuff, and maybe also easier for
MP to book you if you play punk outside. But yeah, the digitial
camo is going to cost quite a bit, and I doubt the SAF is willing
to spend on something that's useful but has lower wayang
value.
The D&G kneepads and elbow pads aren't very good stuff either,
they are pretty stiff and don't hold very well to your joints. They
tend to ride up and down after a while. If you are really on you
might go get a set of blackhawk ones, but they're gonna eat into
your NSF allowance.
And nice LBVs, but I kinda wished they started to implement body
armour, especially in urban combat where such protection is needed.
I heard the verdict is still out with the ADF trying it, but it has
saved many lives in iraq, and the additional weight is worth
it.
