The SAF pioneers are real sway man need to clear WW2
blinds.
"A war relic, suspected to be an undetonated bomb, was found at a
construction site in Toa Payoh on Tuesday.
Police were first alerted to the scene at 2pm.
And officers have been there with a bomb disposal unit from the
Singapore Armed Forces for the past seven hours.
Some 50 construction workers were evacuated from the site, which is
a multi-storey carpark being upgraded.
Workers Channel NewsAsia spoke to said the bomb was not dug up from
the ground but was found when one of them was cleaning up debris
and rubbish at the site.
Residents said 30 years ago, the area was filled with fish ponds
and farms. Soil was brought in to fill the swampy area and build
the flats we see here today.
After eight hours of studying the relic and determining its nature,
officers from SAF's Explosives unit have moved it to a safer
location for officers to prepare for detonation."
