interesting topic. in the us army, it's a 2 mile run...which
should be around 3.2 km.
i guess a "2.4 mile" would take too long! The time difference
between the first and last people would be too great... especially
if female and male soldiers are taking the test together.
i think the Marines also do 2 miles. Their air force though does
something like 1 or 1.5 miles (can't remember).
i wonder what distances other countries use.
