Div. Comdr when newly take over is COL but after 1st year will get promoted to BG right? before they handover to the next one...

Since G's are all based in Mindef...so their starting rank also COL then when they handover to next G's they should be at least BG?

ACGS is a MINDEF GS level appointment, part of the General Staff.

Estab is higher than Div Comd.Regardless of rank, protocol should place any ACGS first.

div comd estb is higher. operational/command position is higher. div commd is usually a BG. eg: chief armour former position was ACGS (PLANS). i once helped my manpower officer in some protocol arrangement (eg: MG sit middle, who should sit on his left, right and so on).

The G and S are basically staff appointments: G being at service HQ and Div Level and S at brigade and battalion.

In terms of peacetime protocol. it would be the Service Chief>>>CGS>>>ACGS>>>Div Comd so on and so forth.

During Ops, the divisions return under the control of the GS branch.
