wanna know abt ocs for airforce ppl

hi ppl, my friend told me that for airforce, the ocs training is less shiong than army.. mostly studies after the bmt phase. i wanna know what exactly ppl do during the training. i suppose the bmt is the same 4 everybody, but what abt after that? how different is it from army n navy?

also, i'm considering of joining airforce (most likely as wso - as posted in my previous posts) after uni (which will be 3 yrs later).... anything that i can do 2 prepare myself? as in both physically n mentally.. fyi i dun exercise regularly since sec 4 Embarassed but i wanna start exercising liao.. juz dunno where 2 start from, how 2 start... anyway even if i decide later that i dun wanna work in the armed forces, exercise can stay healthy mah... heehee

airforce's officer cadet course is not as siong as the army. but still can be siong la.
me not too sure, cos i was from the army. last time , me kept seeing the airboys going for lectures. haha.
as for keeping fit, it is nv too late. start by doing runs. start slow, and slowly make ur way up. visit the gym (to work out not look at guys ). Laughing
if u can try hiking. it is a good form of ex too.

for them, it’s always Lectures , runs , lectures and more runs… and the occassional navex and JST. They do go to Brunei for JST but it’s not a confidence badge. Lesser weeks before being posted to their respective schools in the airforce for training (air grading for pilots, TASC for WSOs)

I have to agree that air wing does a lot of running in ocs. Btw, which vocation are u interested in exactly? There's wso(ada),wso(fighter),wso(C3),wso(uav). As far as i know, most pple go either C3 or ADA. The "chopping" rate for C3 is very high and for ADA, be prepared to run even more in ur SBO + MANPAD during ur weapons training phase in air force sch. As for wso(fighter), it is highly unlikely for a woman to be selected.

Btw, wat course are u taking now? If u are an engin student, then i suggest u think it thru b4 signing on as a combat officer. U'll clock zero relevant experience after ur four yr stint in the armed forces. In tat case, it wld be better for u to sign on as an aeo or join the navy as an neo.

to KKK84: i'm going 2 start sch in NTU this aug, Communication Studies... i know it's totally irrelevant 2 airforce lar... but i thought it's better 2 get a degree 1st, n since i studied mass comm in poly, might as well get a relevant degree (not so shiong plus got subject exemption, can grad earlier).. i'm interested in C3 & UAV, but heard that UAV take in v little ppl, n even lesser girls.. dun even know if there r girls in there now..

i juz graduated from the recent air force service term in ocs…we do more running in the mornings…3km everyday with 5bx. But generally the service term is v v enjoyable. The mood is totally diff lah. Coz no instructors to bark at u…v relac…the exam also quite easy to pass de. But Professional term in air force sch is a diff thing.

i thiink during OCT pharse is in OCS. pass out go AFS for trainee course then AGC then FTS then OCU in SQN then achieve CAT D grade

what do u study during the service term? then the professional term leh? need 2 study v hard 2 pass anot? a lot of things 2 memorise anot? then if i come from a totally unrelated background, will i be very much disadvantaged?

Haha, so u are gonna be my junior soon. I'm in EEE Yr 3 and fyi, a regular in the navy. Comm studies is a four-yr course rite? Given tat u only have to go thru 3 yrs and u have oreadi more or less made up ur mind to join the airforce, my advice to u will be to just go ahead wif ur plans. There's no point asking if u will be able to manage the training in ocs/afs, cos u'll never know until u try. All the female NOs(naval officers) in the batch went into bmt wif minimal level of fitness. At the end of it, even the laziest cld get gold for IPPT without much effort. Just join the force and be open-minded. Start ur preparation by doing some regular jogging from now. As for the tests, MIDS wing has the most number of theory tests u can ever find in the entire ocs, u'll pass so long as u study a bit. No worries abt it.

hey, i always hear ppl saying that the girls go into bmt not-so-fit n manage 2 get gold for IPPT at the end..... er, it sounds like easier said than done leh.. btw any1 knows abt the IPPT standards 4 ladies? for the individual stations i mean. (actually there's still 1 thing holding me back... the field camp that sounds SCARY n dirty Embarassed wondering if any1 actually loved it)
