Enlistment questions

hello people!

i have a few questions and i hope that the helpful people here will be kind enough to answer them. lets roll...

1. if i take the medical checkups, and physical fitness tests in june, when will i most likely be enlisted? i tried searching on the website but they dont really give dates all that well.

2. if i get gold for all my physical fitness tests, will i be able to finish NS faster?

3. how do they assign the camps for you?

my friend who is studying overseas, similar to me, has received a letter requesting that he report to take medical check ups and tests the very next day he touches down in Singapore. however, i have not received anything like that? im rather confused.

1. hard to say. you will have to check with CMPB on this. it also depends on other factors like your education, how big the intake is, what intake it is, etc.
2. you wont have PTP. but the rest of BMT will be the same duration.
3. its more an assignment of vocation rather than camp. your vocation then dictates which camp you go to. and the vocation will depend again on lots of factors like discipline, education level, fitness, aptitude, etc.
4. you may wish to check with CMPB on this.

I'm in the same situation. I had my medical check-up earlier this year in January, and I'll be enlisting in October later this year, as I'm graduating in July.

If you get gold for NAPFA, you'll serve only 1 year 10 months.

When are you graduating? Do you need to renew your exit permit? When you next go to CMPB, ask the people in-charge (Mrs Kristen Chua in particular) about the medical check-up. They'll give you a date and you just have to attend it, and you're all set for enlistment a couple of months later.

Note, the NAPFA test's cut-off date is 2 weeks prior to enlistment, so train up and get your gold! Mr. Green

no i dont need to renew exit permit. mm.. so im just GUESSING that i have around 2 months or more before i start.

=D, im in good physical condition considering i run track and go to the gym 3-4 times a week on top of track practices everyday

possible enlistment period are SEP/OCT or DEC.

there's a 2 month reduction if u manages to get silver for IPPT (NAPFA)

posting and vocation depends on the unit's manpower needs. Nowadays CPC are kind enough to at least post all of u to camps that are near your place.

mm.. i dont have an idea what SIR and all that good stuff is... but maju is nearest to my home.. btw, is there such thing as a best camp? like.. the more prestigous ones.. or ones where the higher ranking people will go to etc..

and what about vocations like medic? will they train in the same camp? or in a camp with ALL medics

BMT training is at BMTC in Tekong.

Vocational training, e.g Medics are at their respective training schools/institutes.

Your camp will be known to you after you pass out from vocational basic. Wink

enlistment nt confirm 1... mayb 3 mth later ... mayb 6 or 9 or 1 yr later...

if u enlist wif a gold or sliver NAPFA/IPPT den u will serve 1 mth lesser...

They'll check your eyesight, hearing, urine, heart rate, blood pressure, height & weight, etc. You'll also have to take measurements for your uniform and a computer test. Be there early in the morning and you'll be able to leave by noon.
