During my time... HDB hawker centres nearby, to supplement camp
food.
Later part of NS, had a steady girl friend ( who could drive ! and
had a sports car !!!) so went out with her whenever both of us were
free.
Went home ... some nites... to sleep properly ! My 2 bunk mates
during NS were late nite sleepers, so they always end up disturbing
my sleep.
