I think I was '2.25G Army'. Laughing

I had a mixture of equipment from both generations.

Gordonator SG

u 2.4G lah since u are only 1 batch before me. i 2.5G. Laughing

one-niner SG

my helmet was the old velcro version and i enlisted in 2001 ..so i think me and fudgster is 2.25 cause my time still no Gortex boots till towards mid 2002…

Gordonator SG

so fudgester and one-niner, what are the 2G and 2.5G items that u have? Question

duotiga83 SG

mineis between 2.5G to 3G

spartan6 SG

Im 2.4G then when i was in NS e gortex boots only just came out Neutral

fudgester SG

2G Equipment:

lao jiao boots - BMT issue
helmet with green chin strap - BMT issue
small single spring bed - Bedok Camp and Ulu Pandan Camp
small dark grey single locker - Bedok Camp and Ulu Pandan Camp

2.5G Equipment

goretex boots - bought after one set of boots were worn out
poncho
normal green towel
styrofoam lunch boxes packed in styrofoam box
normal SBO
camou nametag
simple white earplugs without string in little black box.
normal field pack
green ali baba bag
king coil bed - BMTC and Nee Soon Camp
bigger double light grey locker - BMTC and Nee Soon Camp

The Goretex boots and new helmet with plastic chin buckles were only introduced just as I was about to POP from BMTC. After that, I spent time in both Ulu Pandan and Bedok camps... which were both super-old camps with antiquated settings.

So... that makes me 2.25G, rite? Laughing

one-niner SG

issued 2 pairs of boots before the gortex edition
was issued the gortex jacket and was told to return after trainee days
normal SBO, old field pack that had the side pockets half the sides.
kelvar helmet with green strap,
old stainless steel jackknife
i think i was in the midst of the transformation to the 3G army, however we didn't get to play much of the new toys otherthan the free com comms set and the american made GEN3 NVGs during my closing army days...

not to mention the old blue new balance track shoes Very Happy

my unit also trailed the new cupboard box meals packed in the green insulator bags

LazerLordz SG

I'm 2.45G, in between you guys. Twisted Evil

Gordonator SG

charlize SG

I don't care about whether you are a 2G, 3G or 20G soldier defending the country.

When all your equipment fails you, do you still have the conviction to fight for your country with your bare hands? Laughing

Gordonator SG

2G.

nightzip SG
