I want to ask NSmen in this forum if any of you have been called
up to return for rehearsal for a Change of COmmand Parades?
When I was serving my NSF, i read a internal memo about a NSmen
writing to MINDEF Perm-Secretary complaining that while he does
understand the rationale of Reservist Call up for training.
He does not see the operational need for reservists to be called up
for Change of Command Parade or other Parades. He sees it as a
waste of time and money.
The Perm Sect replied and forwarded his decision saying that NS
Units should not call up their NSmen for non-operational
needs.
This was 2004.
But talking to my friends... they are still being called up in 2005
for such parades. Anybody experienced it?
