Hahaha... yes LazerLordz... sounds like you are in the know!

There are other work for ex- BMTC instructors ( specs and officers) ! The other services need army people for many things ( not just for a Field Defence or Base Defence Squadron).

thats so untrue that 70% of your coy mates are going to ASLC.

I was from 35th ASLC..now at 146th PS course..so u prob have seen me arnd..

aniwae, my coy was bravo that time. I was from Golf, the supposedly "support arms" company. And out of about 140, about 68 went to bravo. Anyway, the people who stayed from bravo bslc to bravo aslc was only like 5 or 6 out of a platoon of 50. SO u say 70%? Quite bullshit.

Anyway I totally agree that the lousier performers become bmtc instructors. Tink about it, why send good people to bmtc when they can go to units? It is usualy the most slack and lousiest and unrespected personnel that got posted to bmtc and NCC. At least, for my time. Not all though..

ANyway I'm in 1GDS..I'm not treated like men..haha..i've also got my recruits in now, for bmt, so I'm like a king..lol..but of cuz after that you got to be fair in how you deal with the men..and then the bond you make there will be far stronger and more useful.

Go unit..its a better place.

Interesting theory also states that non-field deployable Specialists might end up being POI team leaders..wonder if there's any truth in it.And these guys, if they had a higher clearance and vocation that is stringent in selection, might end up elsewhere, depending on what they study in Uni.

Dunno.

But what you study in Uni and what you do in your career immediately after full time NS, may have some bearing on your reservist deployment... providing RPC knows about you.

An example are some SIA pilots... some of them change vocations. I know of 3 friends ( 2 serving in my former reserve unit) and they have transferred from Guards, Infantry and CDO to other units that require their skills. They changed vocations because their employer wrote in.

For my case, I believe there was some influence on my reserve unit assignment based on my Uni course. I remember I came back from overseas and had to surrender my exit permit as well as notify RPC of my degree course completion ( by submitting documentary evidence aka submit certifed true copy of degree cert !) . Within 2 months of doing so, the SAF 100 came and assigned my unit. The coincidence was too great to be otherwise... and the unit job was kind of related.

They have greater latitude in reservist posting, than active NSF postings.
